Stage Door started as a gleam in the eye of a program manager. Stage Door Theatre Troupe was founded in the early ninties under the realization that many creative individuals with developmental and other challenges had no means of expressing their artistic gifts. The program provided camaraderie, skill building, training in theatre arts and stagecraft and introduced our troupe to their own talent and capacity.  Stage Door’s genesis and development was borne of the passion, insight and talent of the staff which provided both training, behaviour management tools for the troupe. Through the years, the troupe became a cohesive force which often conceptualized, wrote, produced and performed in its productions, which were regular productions at the Fringe Festival.
